The Change Ricardo Cavolo
NOW Gallery is embedding public art by contemporary artists, designs and illustrators into the fabric of the Peninsula as it develops.
We are commissioning a series of murals that reimagine construction site hoardings to introduce a wide spectrum of new artwork, communities can enjoy.
In October 2015, we installed Spanish artist, Ricardo Cavolo’s ‘The Change’ near Central Park. The artwork is a deliberate change in Cavolo’s approach to how he expresses marks and strokes, allowing paint to drip- ‘no more perfect lines’. Ricardo is known for using iconic characters influenced by Spanish folk art and tattoos.
New hoardings alongside Millennium Way will be designed by illustrator Jack Taylor who uses print techniques to create urban scenes using flat planes of colour.
This new work will be visible from March 2016.
